Well, here we go again! The new liturgical year begins on September 1st, inaugurating the multitude of parish operations and functions that occupy us every September through June.
Who does not sense the “newness” and the challenge of our parish, once July and August start to fade and become memories?Of course, we can only hope that our various vacation plans have granted us enough rest and leisure time to carry us into the fall with the enthusiasm that our parish deserves from us.
Of course, the first order of business is preparing for our annual International Festival, scheduled for November 4 – 6 2010.Make no mistake, preparations must begin months before that opening day; chairpersons, of course, know this and will be asking parishioners to do their part. All functions and booths are expected to be ready, once we get the call from our General Chairs, Helen Chimel, John Banu and Debbie Nagorny.Remember, there is NO person in St. Anthony’s—man, woman, teen or child—who is not needed.Let none of us expect “someone else” to do it; it is for every one of us to do our part.
